Delhi Capitals Women was founded last year in 2023, before the start of the Women Premier League 2023. The team was owned by GMR Group and JSW Group, who also own the Men’s team in IPL. In Last Year’s Women’s Premier League 2023, the Delhi Capitals Women’s team held the runner-up position. Mumbai Indians Women’s team beat them in the finals last year, though they performed exceptionally well in the tournament. At the WPL Auction, Delhi Capitals were the first team to complete their squad in recorded time. The Franchise has bought three players in this WPL Auction, i.e., Annabel Sutherland, Aparna Mondal, and Ashwani Kumari. A total of 18 member squads have been formed after the TATA WPL Auction, with 12 Indian players and 6 overseas players.
