ICC T20 World Cup 2024 has reached its third stage of the tournament i.e Semifinals of the contest. The top four teams have qualified from the Super 8 round from both groups. Both the Semi-Final Match will take place on the same day i.e 27 June, Thursday. The First Contest Will take place early in the Morning and second one in evening according to Indian Standard time. The Winners of these matches will clash into the final on Saturday to win the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. So Who are these top four teams and their journey to the whole tournament has been explained below:

The Defending Champions of ICC T20 World Cup 2022 became the first team to qualify for the Semi-final spot. The Journey in this edition of England did not start at a good pace. In the Group Round their first match got washed due to rain and lost the second one against Australia. There was a time when it became difficult to qualify for super 8 also in this edition of the World Cup. But they did not look back and play with their same bazball approach and to improve their NRR at Group Rounds. England Defeated Oman and Namibia with heavy Margin to Qualify for Super 8 Round. In the Super 8 Round England defeated West Indies and USA Comfortably but lost to South Africa. They stood in Second Position in their group but became the first team to qualify for semi-finals.

The Proteas South Africa became the second team to Qualify for the semi-final spot in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. Aiden Markram with his team started their campaign on a Positive note and had remained unbeaten throughout the tournament. In the Group league they defeated Bangladesh, Netherlands, Nepal and Sri-lanka. After Successfully dominated the group stage the proteas continued their performance in super 8 also and remained unbeaten in the tournament. They defeated England, West Indies and the United States in the Super 8 Round and topped the table to Qualify for Semi-Finals. South Africa had the best Chance to Win their first ICC Trophy if they didn’t Choke this time. South Africa also called the chokers of the game as they had choked on big platforms before also.

The Men in Blue have done it again to qualify for the semi-finals in this edition of ICC T20 World Cup 2024. Team India had also remained unbeaten throughout the tournament and had performed according to the expectations. But Still only one question raises in everyone’s mind: will they lift the trophy this year ? This will be Rahul Dravid Last Assignment before the exit of his duties as a Head Coach. Rohit Sharma will try his best to lift the trophy for him also. The Indian team had defeated Ireland, Pakistan and USA in the Group Stage while one Match had been washed away. In Super 8 Round they defeated all the three teams in their group like Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Mighty Australia. So Without any further duo they will Clash against England in the Semi-Final Round at Guyana.

It’s a Fairy tale journey if we talk about how an associate nation like Afghanistan managed to qualify for the semi-finals. In the first time of their career they had managed to qualify for semis in the ICC Tournaments. At the last tournament of ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 they performed well but did not qualify for semi-finals. In this edition they managed to defeat minnows like Uganda and Papua New Guinea and a big Fish New Zealand. Afghanistan thrashed New Zealand and knocked them out of the group stage. In the Super 8 Round they lost to India in their opening Match but defeated Australia and changed the platform. In their Final Match Against Bangladesh they defeated them in a high intensity thriller game and Knocked Australia out. Under the Leadership of Rashid Khan the team had shown excellent Character and had become favourites to lift the trophy.
